I want a storm to come and flood us into a song that no one wrote….

London Grammar’s secretiveness and quietly dramatic rise as a blog buzz band flatter to deceive. They’re one prim-toned female singer who sounds like someone very mainstream indeed from the 70s (not punk) whose voice is almost completely devoid of idiosyncrasies, plus two male musicians whose computer pitter-patter forms the politest electronica we’ve heard in a while. They’re the xx you can take home to meet your parents and won’t embarrass you by mumbling or enforcing painful silences over dinner because of something someone said a week before.

The video for ‘Strong’ (which is a powerful, incredibly dope track full of big vocals, smooth instrumentation, impeccable quality and now a fitting video directed by Sam Brown – the creative behind Jay Z’s ‘Onto The Next One’ and Adele’s ‘Rolling In The Deep’.)

Hard to believe this band has only been putting out music since December of last year, with a few singles and one EP (Metal & Dust Feb. 2013).
With early work like this you can only expect great things ahead…
